Instead of buying small gifts for friends this year, I decided to have a get-together. Dad left his house for a few days in Germany, so we borrowed the house and had drinks, walks and Jenga.
First thing, Thomas and I toured Tesco and filled a trolley with alcohol, then tidied up the house and made fried egg sandwiches. In the evening people arrived; Hannah, Charlie, Megan, Eleanor, Jess, Harry, Leigh, and Rose and Amy came later, bearing notes and Myers' Gingerbread Santas. Thomas made mulled wine (and drank most of it), and for once we even had provisions left over in the morning. Chips arrived at 7.30, and were reheated in the microwave about midnight. We walked through the streets and played in the park at pitch black and it was a nice night spent in great company.
